Virology Faculty Position

The Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Cancer Biology (MIC) at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Va., seeks applicants with a research focus in virology for a tenure-eligible position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The candidate will join an exciting and collegial research environment in the Department of MIC and throughout the University, with outstanding opportunities for collaborative research in basic and clinical sciences. The School of Medicine houses state-of-the-art research space and numerous molecular and cellular research core facilities, including biosafety level 3 facilities and cutting-edge flow cytometry, microscopy, and small animal imaging.  The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an energetic, independent, creative and well-funded research program and participate in teaching of graduate and medical students. Candidates must have a PhD and/or MD or equivalent, and a minimum of 3 years of appropriate postdoctoral experience.
