July 2016 – Alison Presents at Gordon Research Conference

April 2016 – Stephanie 2nd Place at 2016 Huskey Research Exhibition

Congratulations to Stephanie, who received 2nd Prize for her presentation in the “Pathogens, Parasites and Cellular Conflict” session at the 2016 Huskey Graduate Research Exhibition. This year, over 100 graduate students delivered oral and poster presentations, with over $8000 awarded in cash prizes.

Travel Award to ASM Microbe 2016 for Stephanie

Congratulations to Stephanie, who received a Travel Award to attend the 2016 ASM Microbe General Meeting! Stephanie will present her work on how Neisseria gonorrhoeae lytic transglycosylases contribute to bacterial defense against neutrophils.

Invitation to present at NIH Imagestream Working Group

February 2016: Asya was invited to present her recent research using imaging flow cytometry at the National Institutes of Health Imagestream Working Group meeting. She attended with Joanne Lannigan, Director of the UVA Flow Cytometry Core and collaborator on this project.

Alison, Asya, Rick, Jonathan, Stephanie, Jacqueline, and Kylene attended the 2015 Mid-Atlantic Microbial Pathogenesis Meeting at Wintergreen Resort. Rick gave a talk, Asya, Jonathan, Stephanie, and Kylene presented posters, and Alison convened a session.

American Society for Microbiology Supported Lecture at Lynchburg College
