Congratulations to Amaris, who was awarded an F31 Predoctoral Fellowship by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases of NIH! Amaris is investigating how modification of lipooligosaccharide of Neisseria gonorrhoeae with host-derived sugars affect the ability of human white blood cells called neutrophils, which are found in abundance in acute gonorrhea, to recognize, respond to, and kill the bacteria.
